Share the Shore, with Christie Hull from Maine Audubon

Thursday, July 11 -- 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Piping PloverWant to know more about two of Maine’s most magical shore and seabirds? Come learn about Piping Plovers and Least Terns, two endangered species that call Maine’s southern beaches home for the summer. Find out why conservation work is so important for these species, and how beachgoers can help share the shore.

There will be an opportunity at the end of the talk to ask questions and receive your very own ‘plover lover’ sticker!

All ages welcome!

Christie Hull is the Outreach Coordinator for Maine Audubon’s Coastal Birds Project. She is proud to be a part of a project that actively works to protect two endangered bird species, the Piping Plovers and Least Terns, and could easily talk about the birds she works with all day! Outreach is an important part of conservation and is key to protecting the birds from human activity. By educating beachgoers about the birds, their biology and habitat, Maine Audubon can help people lower their impact on the beaches and learn to share the shore with our feathered friends. For more information or if you have any questions about their project, feel free to email chull@maineaudubon.org and check out the website at maineaudubon.org/plovers.
